Highlights from our wedding celebrations!

We got married! If you haven’t been following along with our socials (or recent blog articles), we tied the knot in early March. After over 8 years of dating, the wedding was a wonderful celebration of our journey, and our love, witnessed by all of our favourite people! While we know this isn’t travel related, we have been asked by many people to share some highlights, so this blog will display just a few moments from our wonderful celebrations.

The Signing:

The theme of our wedding was to ‘do things our way’, embracing the ability to ‘enjoy the moment’ and not get caught up in the stress or formalities of the weekend. As part of this, we decided to sign the official papers a few days prior at the treasury building in the city. With only a couple of witnesses allowed, we had a little ceremony to start the weekend of celebrations. We were lucky enough to have Tori Jackson on hand for some cute shots of the moment, and us wandering the city. While this was the ‘official’ signing, we treated this as the start of our ‘wedding weekend’, commemorating this day with a family dinner after the signing.

The First Look:

We decided to do a cheeky ‘first look’ before the ceremony, and settled on the extremely talented Jessica Mitchell (Fern & Stone Photography) to be on hand to capture these moments. This allowed us to have a moment ‘just us’ before the fun chaos of the day started. We also loved being able to take some beautiful shots (Jess did well!) before the day really started.

The Ceremony at Mundindi:

We had our heart set on a garden ceremony, and a family property, Mundindi, was the perfect setting to create the wedding space of our dreams. After an early weather scare, the sun peaked through the clouds as the ceremony started. The photos hardly do these moments justice. What beautiful memories!

The Reception at Epicurean:

With an Italian family wedding, there’s no surprise we prioritised a venue with an excellent reputation in hospitality! The Epicurean delivered on everything we were looking for, from amazing modern Italian ‘share-style’ food to excellent service staff. If you’re looking for an excellent wedding venue space on the peninsula, we couldn’t recommend the highly enough. Below are a few snaps from the reception party!

Our Farm Stay at Harts Farm:

We decided to book a cute little farmstay for our first look (see above), and our accommodation over the wedding weekend. After much research, settled on the picturesque Harts Farm as our preferred option. The beautiful accommodation is situated on a charming family run farm. See more about our stay at Harts Farm here including how you can book!

The Recovery at Mundindi:

Reveling in the excitement and love from the day, we returned to the ceremony space (Mundindi) for a low-key but fun filled recovery with many of our friends and family who stayed down the Peninsula. This was a particularly nice morning for us to reflect on the previous day, and enjoy some time with loved ones.

The Byron ‘Mini-Moon’:

We ducked off to Byron for a few days of relaxing and recharging.. and we needed it! After the emotional rollercoaster of the wedding weekend, Byron Bay was the perfect spot to stop and slow down. We enjoyed the ability to reflect on a wonderful weekend of celebrations, and enjoy the charms Byron has to offer. See our Byron Bay guide here!

The Europe Honeymoon..

This is the exciting next step. Stay tuned to our social media channel (@2cupsoftravel) for all of the highlights as we venture to Sicily, Norway, Sweden and more!
