A morning in Lefkes, Paros

Lefkes day trip Paros greece

One of our favourite things to do during a stay in a new city or country is a day trip to a smaller town. Our day trip to Lefkes was one of the best mornings from our stay in Paros. Lefkes is a tiny inland town in Paros, located about 20 minutes away from Naoussa where we stayed. This small town has more of a local feel, and can be explored in 1-2 hours. The narrow streets lead to a cute main square and a little church. There are a multitude of excellent places to stop and relax, and heaps of great photo opportunities.

The best way to get to Lefkes would be either via bus, or with a scooter/quad bike hire. If you take the bus from Naoussa, be warned that there are only 2 busses heading to Lefkes in the morning (9.45am and 11.45am) and only 2 returning (10am and 12pm). We caught the 9.45am bus and had about 1hour 45minutes in Lefkes, which we found to be more than enough time to see the town and stop for a coffee.

We recommend the following when you visit Lefkes, 1. Visit the bakery at the top of the hill, 2. Wander the main street from the top of the hill down to the church, 3. Have a coffee in the main square and people watch.

I was in Lefkes last month. There is also a fantastic Byzantine trail that dates back over 1,000 years at the lower edge of town.

Amazing! Thanks for sharing! We did see a few of these trails but hadn’t given ourselves enough time to check them out! Great addition!
