Morocco! Our first step into Africa! Think of this post as a ‘doorway’ into our Moroccan adventures. Why a post about doors to kick off the content from our tour of this north African country?
1. The doors of Morocco are visually stunning, and are often hard to miss such is their beauty!
2. The doors of Morocco are varied depending on the dwelling and location. For example, the doors of houses were often small, sometimes tiny, with the purpose of helping to reduce the heat/conserve cooling (yes, Morocco is hot). Additionally, the doors of the Moroccan mosques (Muslim place of worship, the equivalent of a church) were often grand and ornate. Palaces and castles also sported similarly grand doors.
