Hoi An is a delightful Vietnamese town that we think is well worth a visit! If you haven’t already, check out our post about the best things to do in Hoi An! We received a few tips when looking at Hoi An accommodation, and we must say, the advice was spot on. Read on to hear where we stayed and our thoughts on these bookings.
Lasenta Boutique Hotel Hoian
When it comes to booking accomodation on travels, Ky typically looks for the “budget” options and Tess spends time trying to convice him to stay somewhere a little nicer. For Hoi An, Tess won out! The Lasenta Boutique Hotel was an amazing experience. The highlight was obviously the infinity pool overlooking the rice fields. The rooms were well sized and clean. We also had accesss to an excellent buffet breakfast including Vietnamese dishes such as Pho and made to order Vietnamese pancakes (almost like an omlette).
Pros:
- The infinity pool. That view was incredible. Having access to a pool in Vietnam was a great addition, as the humidity meant a quick dip was often a must during the day.
- The buffet breakfast was a great addition that we definitely enjoyed. The made to order options was a nice touch.
- The complimentary bike hire was also excellent. Getting into town and down to the beach was much easier on the bikes, and a cycle through the rice fields was also one of our highlights.
Cons:
- The distance from Hoi An old town was a consideration. It was approximately at 20 minute walk or a 5-10 minute cycle to the centre of the town. The hotel did had a free shuttle bus down into town which was used a couple of times, but the walk was generally plesant for those that don’t mind getting around on foot.
Cost: we paid $100 AUD per night

Hidden Beach Bungalow Sea View
How often can you stay somewhere and literally walk out the front door and onto the beach? This villa was litterally ON THE BEACH, and we loved it. The Hidden Beach Bungalows came with a strong recommendation from my brother after his recent Hoi An trip, and if there’s anything we’ve learnt from travelling so far, it’s that recommendations are so helpful for accommadation! You get a whole villa to yourself, and the beachside villa’s literally open up onto the beach. We would recommend getting the beachfront bungalows to take advantage of the view and beach access.
The Hidden Beach was calm and nice for a swim (however for those accustomed to Australian or European beaches, it’s not quite at that level). There was a beachside bar on the water which we took full advantage of for our 1 night stay.
Pros:
- The beach outside your door. That view and ability to walk out the door to the beach was something special. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was also a highlight.
- The rooms/villa’s were excellent.
- The beachside bar was a great touch and a perfect experience to relax and enjoy those holiday vibes.
- It was very romantic and is an excellent destination for couples.
Cons:
- The location relative to Hoi An town wasn’t ideal. You’d need to catch a taxi into the city centre. We wouldn’t recommend staying here for the entirity of your Hoi An stay if you’re wanting to spend a lot of time in the Old Town.
- This isn’t the location for families. It’s definitely much more something for couples. It’s also not 5 star, so if you’re wanting that experience, maybe look elswhere.
