Mountain View is the bucket list Sacred Valley stay you MUST add to your Peru itinerary!

mountain view experience peru sacred valley bucket list do not miss airbnb

Planning to visit Peru’s sacred valley? Well look no further than this guide.. as it is one of our highest recommendations for the region, and a ‘must add’ to your itinerary! Located in Maras, ~1-2 hours from Cusco, is a boutique but luxurious accommodation stay called Mountain View. One of our friends recommended we check out their A-Frame stays, and after some research (it didn’t take much convincing), we were delighted they had availability for our trip to Peru! The photos of soaring views, friendly llamas, hot tubs, gorgeous boutique accommodation.. it’s all real and better than we could have expected.

Reading this guide you’ll likely think this an ad or sponsored post, however it is not (reach out if you want to sponsor us to visit your hotel 😉 haha). We had such an incredible experience at Mountain View that we wanted to share this gem with you all! We would recommend booking in advance, as they only have limited rooms. The also have a multitude of booking options for the rooms.. we chose the ‘Maras A-Frame’, which had a hot tub but overall basic facilities. There are bougier options, but regardless of your choice, all rooms have exceptional views. If your budget allows, we highly recommend a room with a hot tub.. this was one of our favourite experiences!

How to get to Maras Mountain View? You’ll need a private transfer, taxi or car hire. We organized our pick-up through Mountain View from Cusco, with this process simple, easy and relatively affordable. The accommodation has an excellent cafe and restaurant, plus the indoor/outdoor terraces offer exceptional views and are worth relaxing in during your stay.

So how long should you stay at Mountain View? Well.. we stayed 2 nights. This was partially to allow us to relax and soak up the experience, but also to be able to use this as a base for a sacred valley tour (which can be organized through Mountain View if you want).

The llama experience at Mountain View was a bucket list moment for us! The well trained llamas live a good life in the fields around Mountain View. As part of your booking, you get the opportunity to feed them from your balcony or hot tub. They are friendly, if not a little hungry. The whole experience is so much fun, and highly recommended!

So should you stay at Mountain View? Absolutely! We’d go as far as recommending you base your visit to Cusco and the Sacred Valley around a stay here!
