We love exploring our home city of Melbourne. Home to the best coffee in the world. Home to some of the best and most diverse food in the world. Home to a plethora of underrated alleyways, bars and pubs, art/music, and culture /subcultures. Melbourne is the best sports city in the world. It is one of the most livable in the world. Overall.. Melbourne is pretty great!

However, don’t expect “Paris Highlights” when you first visit. To best unpack Melbourne, visit the alleyways, try the food the locals recommend, visit a rooftop bar, head to the local pub or cafe, sit and people watch in one of the many city fringe parks. Do what the locals do!
Explore Melbourne with us behind our lens..
This gallery canvases a night we spend in Melbourne from behind our camera lens. With little Luca in tow, Ky and Tess explored their home city, capturing highlights with a new Retropia Vintage Glow Lens (note – this is not a sponsored post, we just enjoyed the lens). We wanted to get this lens to get those cinematic, glow-y shots, and it didn’t disappoint. We visited the following locations, and highly recommend:
- Ilza Japanese – Little Collins
- Fortune Dumpling – Chinatown
- Rooftop Bar – Curtin House

This was a cute little ‘date night’ that captured many of the great parts of Melbourne. Good multicultural food, laneways, rooftop bars, and getting amongst the heart of the city. If you live in Melbourne, or are coming to visit, we encourage you to get out, explore, people watch, and try something new!
