A visit to Europe should be high on your wishlist! We have visited the wonderful continent many times, and based upon our experience, we have detailed a few wonderful ways to spend a week in Europe! We have based the experience of some amazing regions of Europe, giving you a good guide for some 1-week itineraries. Use this as some travel inspiration as you plan your next trip to Europe!



6 one week Europe itineraries to fuel your wanderlust:

Relax on idyllic Croatian islands:

Croatia is a truly spectacular holiday destination which we have visited multiple times. Our favourite spot is definitely the island of Vis, located a few hours via ferry from Split. Do some research around the islands, but you can see a few nearby islands below that would work for a short week trip. We have visited all three and find the offer unique differences.

Key Destinations:

  • Vis Island: You could easily spend a whole week here like we did, however if you’re looking to experience a few islands, we would recommend 2-4 days in the idyllic Vis Island in either Vis Old Town or Komiza.
  • Brac: Head to Brac for a few days and stay in either the charming Postira, Sumartin or busier Bol. A day trip to the famous Zlatni Rat is a must, but go early before the crowds!
  • Hvar: Another iconic Croatian island! Spend 1-3 days here pending your itinerary above. Stay near the main old town for the best atmosphere.

Don’t Miss:

  • A visit to Stiniva Beach on Vis Island
  • Enjoying a drink at Frutarija on Vis Island
  • Hiring a scooter/car and enjoying a day trip around the island of choice
  • Hiking to the iconic Fortress in Hvar
  • Swimming off the rocks – the water is incredible and the beach swim spots are often found down small side streets

Road trip through the South of France:

Step away from the big cities and visit the charming and picturesque south of France. Think cute towns, great wine, day trips and lots to see! Take a look at a few of our top picks below!

Key Destinations:

  • Avignon: This medieval town is the perfect place to base yourself in the region. Filled with cute squares, restaurants and lots to do. You can also reach it via train!
  • Gordes: A must! The charming city boasts amazing views! Arrive early to beat the crowds, wander the streets and go searching for views!
  • Others to consider: The entire region is filled with amazing towns, however we enjoyed Uzes, Nimes, Pont Du Gard, and would have loved to visit Russolin, Orange, and the famous Provence lavender fields.

Don’t Miss:

  • Enjoy the view at Gordes – Enjoy it from the main view point outside the town and from down a side alleyway!
  • Enjoy a wine in the main square of Avignon (or any of the small towns).
  • Hire a care and day trip these incredibly cute towns!

  • Reine: The iconic fishing villages are exactly what you can expect when visiting Reine.
  • Henningsvรฆr: The “Venice of Norway” is an incredibly picturesque city that should definitely be on your list!
  • Others to consider: Hamnรธy, Nusfjord, Svolvaer

  • Staying in a traditional fishing cabin (see below for options).

  • Monteriggioni: This tiny little town is underrated and a perfect addition to your Tuscany road trip!
  • San Gimignano: One of the most ‘iconic’ Italian towns, but it’s worth the visit. Arrive early with your own car before the crowds!
  • Lucca: This beautiful town is a must visit in Tuscany. An easy day trip via car or with train from Florence. Enjoy a coffee in the main square!
  • Others to consider: Montepulciano, Castello Vicciomaggio, Val d’Orcia valley, Saturnia hot springs.

Don’t Miss:

  • Staying a few nights in Tuscany! Don’t just day trip, enjoy the experience of staying in a villa or vineyard.
  • Day trip to small towns, wineries and more! Hire a car to go on your own terms!
  • Taste the cuisine! We had some of the best gelato and wines in Tuscany!

Embrace adventure and day trips in Transylvania:

An underrated gem in Transylvania that should be on your list! We loved the ‘unknown’ nature of Romania, and the towns were incredible! Stay in Brasov and day trip around! See our guides and tips below!

Destinations:

  • Brasov: A must! This was our favourite and our base during our day trips in the region! See our Brasov guide below to explain why we think you should stay here.
  • Sibiu: The buildings in Sibiu have ‘eyes’, making it one of the more unique places we have visited and definitely one to see.
  • Others to consider: Sinia, Transfagarasan Highway, Bran Castle, Sigihisoara, Rupea.

Don’t Miss:

  • The coffee/cafe scene in Brasov! Some of the best coffee we had on our travels!
  • Day trips to the incredibly cute local towns! Hire a car for this if possible!
  • Seeing the Transfagarasan Highway! The views!

A must if you visit Spain! Great food, incredible cities and lots to do! See a few of our top picks from a week in the region!

Destinations:

  • Granada: This charming city is somewhere we would definitely return. With the impressive Alhambra overlooking the city, amazing culture, and top food.. it’s a great place to visit for a few days.
  • Seville: One of the best ‘foodie cities’ in Europe (but you will get sick of Jamon). Seville is definitely worth visiting. Spend a few days, eat lots of tapas.
  • Others to consider: Cordoba, Rhonda

Don’t Miss:

  • Tapas at El Rinconcillo is an absolute must when you visit Seville!
  • Coffee from La Finca (Granada) and Virgen Coffee (Seville)
  • Watching a traditional Flamenco dance in Granada
  • Visiting the iconic Alcazar in Seville
  • Heading to the incredible Alhambra in Granada
